About Us

We are an independently island owned and managed real estate agency, serving beautiful Beaver Island. You'll find us conveniently located at 26260 Main Street, just south of the ferry dock, in the heart of town. Our office is adjacent to the Erin Motel lobby on the harbor. 

Island Property LLC is staffed by Roy Elsworth G.R.I., Christy Albin and Mike Collins. They bring with them over 38 years of real estate experience on Beaver Island.

Roy Elsworth has a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, and a G.R.I. (real estate degree) from the University of Michigan. He also has extensive experience in the fields of forestry, wildlife and land management. He held the position of manager for the Hiawatha Sportsmans' Club in the Upper Peninsula for nine years before coming to live on Beaver Island. His duties included overseeing a staff of twenty, and land management of over 56 square miles of property. Roy is a lifetime member of the Beaver Island Wildlife Club, and served for six years on the Chamber of Commerce board as Treasurer. With over 3,000 hours of flight time as a private pilot, including numerous flights over Beaver Island, Roy has unique insights into the nooks and crannies here that few get to enjoy. His extensive airtime over this island provides us with invaluable in-depth knowledge of the land and terrain. During his successful career, he has facilitated transactions exceeding a hundred million dollars worth of island property. Roy continues to be trusted by buyers and sellers of real estate for over 29 years to offer the best service and finest properties available. 

Christy Albin became a full-time resident of Beaver Island in 1994. Prior to moving here from Chicagoland, she worked at her hometown hospital as a critical care nurse.  In 1984 her husband Keith and she founded the masonry construction company which they continue to operate and manage today. They have two fine sons - John, who is a biomedical engineering student at Mich.Tech.University, and Eric, who attends high school on the island. Like many islanders, Christy is very community minded and does much volunteer work. She recently trained and was certified as an Emergency Medical Tech., and joins the excellent and dedicated island EMS team. She has directed and performed in several benefit plays for the BI Comm. Players/Theatre. She has served as choir member, cantor & organist at church. She worked on the board of the Chamber of Commerce 4 years, in the capacity of Treasurer and later as President.  Other volunteer work includes assisting the school Sports Boosters, the Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and church fundraisers. She is currently Vice-Chair for the BI Cultural Arts Assn., as well as Secy. for the BI Comm. Tennis Assn. She became a licensed real estate agent in 2003, and has been instrumental in helping dozens of people acquire their ideal island property. With her years of experience with business, contracts, land development and construction, she is a valuable asset to this agency as well as our customers.

Mike Collins has been a resident of Beaver Island for twenty years, after being marooned here on his 21 ft. homemade sailboat. He fell in love with the island and made it his home. He met his wife, Kelly, here and has been happily married for ten years. He is regarded as one of the finest building contractors on the island, and has experience with both commercial and residential construction. He also currently owns and manages the Harbour Market general store in town. He has been a licensed real estate agent for over five years, and has had many sales to his credit. He enjoys working with Roy and Christy, and is an important member of our team.
